The Goldsmiths' Centre Launches New Evening Courses In Technical Skills for the Jewellery Industry
The Goldsmiths’ Centre in Clerkenwell, London, has launched a new evening series of Technical Skills Short Courses for 2019 designed specifically for intermediate to advanced learners. These bespoke workshops will provide a unique opportunity for members of the jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries to hone their hand skills over 6 to 8 weeks with some of the UK’s leading practicing craftspeople.
With small class sizes, participants will receive dedicated guidance from their tutor, allowing them to discuss the challenges they are facing in producing their work. Held in the purpose-built workshops of the Goldsmiths’ Centre, these short courses kickstart in January next year and will start from as little as £360:
ADVANCED ENAMEL TECHNIQUES WITH JOAN MAC KARELL -CHAMPLEVÉ AND BASSE-TAILLE ENAMELLING
Thursdays 31 January, 7, 14, 21, 28 February and 7, 14 March 2019
Induction day: 31 January, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Followed by 6 evenings, 5.30pm – 8.30pm, £360
Taught by Joan Mac Karell, this new evening course for more experienced enamellers will introduce you to Champlevé and Basse-Taille enamelling techniques. Apply these skills to one off commissions or limited-edition pieces. Ideal for intermediate to advanced learners.
ADVANCED TRADITIONAL DIAMOND-MOUNTING TECHNIQUES WITH STUART PAUL
Tuesdays 19, 26 March, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 April and 7 May 2019
Tuesday evenings, 6pm - 9pm, £360
Designed for more experienced jewellers, this new evening course taught by jeweller Stuart Paul will develop your hand skills by producing a traditional, 9 stone basket back cluster. Ideal for intermediate to advanced learners.
