Call out for submissions to the Hammer Club exhibition 2019!
Submit your work by Thursday 14th March 2019 to be part of this year’s Hammer Club exhibition showcasing at the Dock Street Studios in Dundee and the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London.
The Hammer Club, an organisation founded in 2012 with the purpose to promote European silversmiths, is seeking spectacular design submissions in response to theme “Renewal” created by silversmiths across the UK and Europe.
Where will my work by showcased?
This unique touring exhibition will be on show at:
- The Dock Street Studios, Dundee, E1 8JN (27th May – 30th June 2019)
- The Goldsmiths’ Centre, London, EC1M 5AD (Wed 17th July – Fri 13 September 2019)
to mark the Hammer Club’s annual conference in collaboration with the University of Dundee and the Goldsmiths’ Centre, featuring a series of lectures and presentations.
- Dock Street Studios, which has 167sq metres of space is located directly opposite the V&A Dundee.
- The Goldsmiths’ Centre is located in the heart of London’s creative design quarter, a short walk from Farringdon tube station and will show a selection of works from the Hammer Club exhibition.
The Scottish Incorporation of Goldsmiths has also expressed interest to show some works at the Elements festival at Lyon & Turnbull Auctioneers in Edinburgh during October 2019.
The theme of this year’s Hammer Club exhibition is “Renewal”. Renewal is the sense of what has been taking place in the City of Dundee in Scotland and its regeneration as a cultural and creative city; renewal in the way that silversmithing is undergoing a renewal embracing new and emergent technologies.
What do I need to consider?
Both Dock Street Studios and the Goldsmiths’ Centre will cover the insurance for selected works, including transport to and from the venues. If you are happy for your works to be considered for either or both of these exhibitions, please check the box at the end of the application form.
How do I submit my application?
The deadline for applications is Thursday 14th March 2019. Further information about submitting your work will be published in April.
