A Launchpad for Emerging Talent: The Goldsmiths’ Centre Exhibition Spotlights Jewellery and Silversmithing Newcomers
From 10 April to 26 June 2025, the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London will host Spotlighting Getting Started, a free exhibition showcasing the work of seventeen emerging jewellers and silversmiths. Over 50 handcrafted designs will be on display, ranging from kinetic jewellery designed to engage all the senses to brooches inspired by the resilience of individuals battling breast cancer.
All exhibitors participated in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s Getting Started Online business training programme in 2024. Following the course, they were invited to apply for the Spotlighting Getting Started exhibition and follow-on training, with selections made by a panel of experts, including jewellery journalist Rachael Taylor and members of the Goldsmiths’ Centre team.
“Spotlighting Getting Started is an opportunity for UK-based early career makers to put their learning into practice. Through assignments, they develop skills such as preparing for interviews, photographing their work, and promoting it via social media. Each year, participants grow in confidence, paving the way from them to expand their businesses and showcase their work at events across the UK and internationally.”
– Charlotte Dew, Head of Public Programmes at The Goldsmiths’ Centre explains
