Social Media has become part of our everyday lives as individuals and as consumers. But if you’re a jewellery business owner, social media provides a great opportunity to promote your brand, reach new audiences, and sell your work – it has become a business essential. But, where do you begin?

Our Social Media Platforms Suite includes courses on 7 of the most popular social media platforms:

  • Facebook (also available as a stand-alone course for £69)
  • Instagram (also available as a stand-alone course for £69)
  • Twitter
  • TikTok
  • WhatsApp
  • YouTube
  • Pinterest

Social Media expert and accredited trainer, Alison Battisby, will explain each platform’s strengths and a little about usage and engagement levels. She will explain how to set up and brand your accounts, how to create or upload content, and will take you through the key features and benefits of each platform.

With practical instruction, and examples of jewellery and silversmithing brands using social media, this suite provides an ideal guide for businesses who want to establish their social media presence, or add additional platforms to their existing footprint.

What will I learn?

This is a suite of courses about using the most popular social media platforms for your business. It consists of seven videos, each one covering a different platform, in total lasting around 4 hours.

The Facebook and Instagram courses are the longest in the Bundle (60 and 90 minutes respectively) and are the most in-depth, these are the same courses that are available to take individually for £69. Twitter and TikTok, with fewer features and tools, are shorter courses (around 30 minutes each); and WhatsApp, YouTube and Pinterest each last 10-15 minutes.

On completing the Bundle, you will be able to make an informed decision about which platform(s) to use for your business, and be equipped to create or improve your business presence on any of them.

How do I access this course online?

Hosted on The Goldsmiths’ Centre’s Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle), the course can be accessed on any computer or smartphone/tablet with a stable internet connection and a mainstream web browser, or using the free Moodle App.

As a ‘self-paced’ course, you can watch the video whenever you like, and as many times as you like, within the 6-month access period.

Who is the course designed for?

If you are looking to create a business presence on social media from scratch, or to learn more about any of the featured platforms to help improve or grow your existing presence, this course is ideal for you. You will get more from the course if you have a business account on the platforms (where applicable, although this is not necessary), and you should have some experience of social media for personal use. Our FREE Introduction to Social Media course is bundled with this course, and is the best place to start if you are relatively new to social media or haven’t used it for some time.
