Join international business development specialist Toyin Laketu and trends forecaster Kathryn Bishop as they explore the implications of Brexit for creative businesses, in-conversation with jewellery journalist and founder of The Jewellery Cut, Rachael Taylor.
They will consider the simple steps you can take to support and develop your business in a post-Brexit world, from supply chains and selling internationally to documentation processes, and will reflect on the shifting consumer behaviours and expectations. Who are the speakers?
Kathryn Bishop is a London-based editor and trend forecaster, and vice-chair of the Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council. She began her writing career in 2008 with a blog focused on jewellery design, growing her knowledge and industry reach to become editor of B2B title Professional Jeweller in 2013. In 2016 she was selected for Retail Jeweller’s 30 Under 30, praised for her "unrivalled knowledge of the jewellery industry". Kathryn has since written for and consulted for organisations including IJL, Baselworld, Retail Jeweller, Adorn Insight and WGSN. Today, she is Foresight Editor at globally-renowned trends consultancy The Future Laboratory, focusing on the luxury and retail sectors.
Rachael Taylor launched Professional Jeweller and WatchPro in her early career and is the co-founder and editorial director of The Jewellery Cut, a platform to elevate and support contemporary jewellery in the UK. She is also a freelance jewellery writer and a regular contributor to a number of titles including The Financial Times, Luxury London, JFW, VO+, Retail Jeweller, Rapaport and Platinum Resident.
