The Goldsmiths’ Centre launches Access Grants to help talent build thriving creative careers
The Goldsmiths’ Centre, the UK’s leading charity for the professional training of goldsmiths, has launched Access Grants, funded by the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity, to ensure finance is not a barrier for talent to access its technical and business short courses.
As part of the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), the charity will cover course fees for UK resident jewellers, silversmiths and allied industry practitioners who face financial difficulty, with preference given to applicants from groups who are insufficiently represented in educational settings.
Upon successful application, the grants will provide the opportunity to take part in one course per calendar year, up to the maximum value of £500, pending available spaces.
“Here at the Goldsmiths’ Centre, we aim to be open, accessible and inclusive to all. We hope that our new Access Grants enable more individuals to access top quality training and further their careers, even if financial circumstances could otherwise prohibit them from taking part. We believe that talent should not be held back because of financial barriers but be supported to grow.”
– Julia Skilton, Education & Partnerships Officer at the Goldsmiths' Centre
