PROFESSIONAL TRAINING TEAM ADMINISTRATOR

Department: Professional Training

Reports to: Head of Professional Training

The Goldsmiths’ Centre is a Charity established by the Goldsmiths’ Company, one the Great Twelve Livery Companies of the City of London, and the support of those working or aspiring to work within the goldsmithing industry is at the core of what we do. Now in our fifth year, our work around education and training is continuing to develop and we now require an Administrator to support our Professional Training team and assist the development of programmes which meet the Centre’s charitable purpose and are commercially viable.

You will be someone with strong organisational and administrative skills, capable of juggling a range of tasks and prioritising these accordingly. You will be used to using your initiative, working well with others as well as autonomously, to ensure that work is completed in an accurate and effective manner. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as this role will require you to liaise with colleagues, designers, craftspeople, tenants, external curators, partners and event participants.

Preferably educated to degree level and with a background in the industry or design you will be as passionate about beautiful objects and fine craftsmanship as we are!

MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

The Goldsmiths’ Centre in Clerkenwell, London, is the leading charity for the professional training of jewellers, silversmiths and the allied industries. Now in our 5th year of operation, we run a vibrant programme of courses, exhibitions and events open to aspiring and established craftspeople and our growing network of over 1,000 members.  

We're looking for an experienced, bright and highly motivated and organised Membership & Communications Coordinator who will be responsible for the Goldsmiths' Centre's membership scheme, its strategic development, the creation and launch of new tiers, products and services as well as member liaison. You will need to be able to demonstrate a strategic, creative and resourceful approach to developing the offer and will play a crucial part in driving forward financial growth, and retaining and building a base of committed members.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across departments, with industry members, residents, external clients and partner organisations. You will also support the team in raising the profile of the Goldsmiths' Centre and its activities across communication channels from social media to print. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or minimum two years’ work experience in membership administration or marketing. You will have an eye for a good story, with the ability to create compelling content and with a strong interest in design, art and craft. Most importantly, you will enjoy building relationships and developing your skills as part of a small creative organisation.
